The project is made up of 3 communities from the municipality of Tepehuanes in Durango, Mexico.
It covers a total of 16,000 hectares of pine and oak forests in the Sierra Madre Occidental, a priority conservation region according to the National Commission for the Knowledge and Use of Biodiversity (CONABIO).
The pine-oak forests of the Sierra Madre Occidental are among the highest priority regions in Mexico due to their biodiversity and conservation status

Hummingbirds
Montezumae Global Consultores S.C. is developing in alliance with Hummingbirds one of its first carbon projects, integrated by 3 communities in Durango and with a total of 16,000 ha of IFM.
French developer
Hummingbirds is a French carbon developer created in 2022 and working in Latin America,
Africa and Asia, with a portfolio of more than 20 projects.
Financial support
Hummingbirds provides the financial support necessary for the full development of the project, from the baseline to the issuance of the credits.
The objective
The objective of Hummingbirds, together with Montezumae, is to develop a project that meets the highest market standards, guaranteeing good governance transparent, comprehensive solutions and real, additional and verifiable carbon capture.
Biodiversity
Montezumae and their partner on the ground, Jukgam, are responsible for project implementation. This includes activities such as reforestation, sustainable logging practices and biodiversity conservation with the communities to maximize carbon sequestration potential.

Extensive experience
